St. Boniface

St. Boniface is home to some of the most historically rich centers in and around Winnipeg. Originally created to honor its namesake saint, this city continues to experience a rich French influence. It is perhaps the largest center for Francophones west of the Great Lakes, and it boasts a culture that is unlike any other.

Tourists and residents alike flock to the charming and historic city of St. Boniface to immerse themselves in the steep cultural traditions. You can take a journey back in time by visiting one of their many sites, including the St. Boniface Museum and the St. Boniface Cathedral. However, these notable landmarks are only a small portion of why most residents love to live in this rural municipality.

Perhaps one of the best parts of living in the area is the quick access to all sorts of social activities. A quick stroll down the main streets of town will reveal casual bistros and cafes filled with tantalizing French pastries. If the arts appeal to you more than the culinary achievements, you can visit a local theater company or visit the La Maison de artistes in the city hall building. You may even want to visit their ten-day winter festival, Festival du Voyageur, which fills the city with snow sculptures and lively entertainment.

There are so many excellent reasons to adore the authentic city of St. Boniface. We’re here to help make you or your loved one more comfortable so you can enjoy the city you live in.

The services we offer can range from a few hours a week to full, 24×7 live in support.

When health declines or a physical disability makes care more difficult, it isn’t just the physical needs of a client that is important. Social supports are a significant aspect of living a full and fulfilling life. Other companies that offer fewer hours may not have the time, manpower, or ability to focus on this facet of daily care.

At Partners for Home, we believe that social support can help improve the overall quality of a person’s life. This is why we make it a priority to help our clients maximize their social activities. They experience more enjoyment when given the chance to continue to connect with friends and family members.

St. Boniface offers so many amazing opportunities to enrich the daily life with arts, history, and excellent culinary skill. This connection to the community is one of many reasons why our clients prize in-home care over an assisted living facility or nursing home. They aren’t quite ready to part with their ability to be a part of something so wonderful.

Our family created Partners for Home, after our father was diagnosed with ALS in 2007. Since this time we have become experts in helping families understand and navigate through the  options here in Manitoba for the highest possible Home Care experience.

Because of our how company works with the WRHA’s Self / Family Managed Home Care program, not only was our father able to remain in his home, but he continues to feel safe and remain a family contributor while maintaining his dignity. None of this would have been possible without this program. SFMC allows Manitoban’s through a private Agency to build a truly customized level of service specific to their individual needs. For our family, this meant our father could be helped out of bed at the time he wanted to be moved instead of waiting sometimes for hours for someone to arrive. Rather than having to deal with new people coming to our house almost every day, he could rely on the same Care Giver. This resulted in a less stressful environment for both our father and the Care Givers, as he no longer needs to retrain a new worker each and every day on how to move him. In addition, our father can have a shower as often as he wants and is no longer limited to just one per week, which just was not enough. In addition, moving to the Self / Family Managed Home Care program, has enabled our family to develop meaningful relationships with the Care Givers that serve our family.

As Partners for Home, our support workers are available first and foremost to promote safety and physical comfort for the client. That can take on multiple forms based on what a specific client will struggle with the most. However, we start with the very basic services of personal home care activities where we help our clients through the daily living skills they need to continue functioning. We can help with eating, bathing, toileting, and offering medication reminders.

Housekeeping is also important for many of our clients because it makes their home a much safer environment. Our care partners may help with cleaning, laundry, shopping, and preparing meals onsite. All of these services contribute to the overall well-being of an individual in our care.

It isn’t just the client specifically who is important to Partners for Home though. We also offer family support and respite care. Primary caregivers can experience burnout and fatigue rather quickly when they aren’t given the opportunity to take care of themselves. Partners for Home is proud to offer these family support services because it can help to restore balance to a caregiver’s life and give them a break from the routine of exclusively caring for their loved one.

Our company focuses on providing high-quality services that are consistent each and every day. You’ll be partnered with specific workers who will come to your home day after day. Retraining new workers on a daily basis will be a thing of the past. We provide the services you need when you need them the most.

Success between our caregivers and clients can frequently be influenced by the presence or absence of compatibility between the participants and we do not leave that factor to chance. Partners for Home leverages Insights Discovery, a world-class psychometric methodology which highlights an individual’s own strengths and weaknesses, communication style, approach to problems and value to a team. Insights Discovery is built to help people understand themselves, understand others and make the most of relationships that affect them.  This system has high value to our Clients and to all of our Home Care Partners.

Partners for Home is committed to helping your family through a difficult transition. Watching a loved one struggle with any type of disability or lack of mobility is challenging. Considering all of the options for their care can be heart-wrenching if you have to think about the possibility of an assisted living facility. We can help you to find a solution that will work for your family so they can stay a part of the vibrant St. Boniface community.
